Introduction
This scheme of work is a carefully curated learning journey designed to progressively help your pupils become critical thinkers, responsible media creators, and positive changemakers in society. It goes beyond basic online safety to cover how young people find, understand, create, and use media and information in ways that empower them and connect them to the world – building on the foundations developed through Levels 1, 2 and 3.
How It Works
• A new lesson is published weekly, linked to current news stories from First News. Each lesson in this scheme has a unique learning objective that maps to a selection of framework statements, supporting pupils to build practical skills and critical understanding. The complete scheme (four levels) is designed to be engaging, interactive and age-appropriate for ages 7-16.
