The First News MIL Primary Framework for ages 7-11 has been developed in partnership with MILA, and built around MILA's five aspirations ('domains'): • be informed • be empowered • be healthy • be socially conscious • be connected Under each domain, a list of I know/I can statements set out what it means for a young person to be media and information literate in that area. The TeachKit schemes of work have been designed to ensure that all statements are addressed over the course of a year through clear learning objectives – and the fortnightly news-based lessons are also mapped back to the framework.
