All Rivers In England Are Polluted

Rivers in England all contain plastic, sewage and agriculture waste, say MPs. A report by the Environmental Audit Committee, which is made up of MPs from several parties, found that only 14% of English rivers meet good ecological status.

It is concerned that people’s health and nature is at risk. The report found that many drainage systems are clogged by single-use plastics and hygiene products like wet wipes. Plants and animals are also being killed by high levels of nutrients in the water. The committee is calling on the Government and water companies to act now so that we can restore the rivers back to health.
