i think that chris is well brave to do it. boys should get the same rights as girls otherwise it is unfair

  • Juju W (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 12:13

I hate my unifrom but we all have to wear it!!! theres lots of things at school that i dont want to do but i have to do because they are the rules!!! he should complane it could be a lot worse!!!

  • Emily T (Age 13) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 15:27

Good for him! He wants something and he's found a brilliant way to do it! Boys should be allowed to wear shorts; they're skirts for boys!

  • Helen R (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 15:48

I think he has made his point and although it sounds sill it is a very sensible idea to do this. I agree with him that it is unfair that girls can wear skirts whereas boys have to wear trousers even in the summer!

  • Katie D (Age 16) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 16:16

Chris has made a very good point and has protested about the fact that boys aren't allowed to wear shorts but girls can wear skirts. This is unfair because boys would get really hot whilst girls are allowed to be cooler. I think that he protested purpousfully and deserves to make his voice heard. Good for him! :)

  • Victoria B (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 16:21

It is good that he is fighting for what he wants. I think the boys should be aloud to wear shorts. Skirts and shorts are like the same. The only differance is that shorts hae leg holes.

  • Grace J (Age 16) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 16:33

I think that Chris has done exactly what first news encourages, getting your voice heard! I think he is a great inspiration for young people who disagree with the way something is done. We should all be more like Chris :)

  • Freyja B (Age 15) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 16:39

I think it is really good that he is standing up for what he belives in - I wish I could wear shorts to school too!

  • Harry B (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 16:45

  • Amber T (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 16:51

good for him! :) i think it is silly boys arent allowed shorts!

  • Emelia G (Age 16) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 16:57

Good for him!! That is really unfair that they are not allowed to where shorts, if he has got the courage to wear a skirt then he can do it!! :)

  • Alison H (Age 13) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 16:57

Good for him, it's great to show he's being silly for what he believes in.

  • Eve M (Age 15) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 17:02

  • Rhianna G (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 17:07

All i can say is he must have been desprate to able to wear shorts!I can see that bullies would enjoy a time like this, he must have been bullied terribly.

  • Katie B (Age 15) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 17:09

Well done Chris!I definitely agree it is unfair Boys can't wear shorts and hope he wins his protest! GOOD LUCK Chris!!

  • Lauren A (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 17:34

I think that they should allow boys to wear shorts, but never, NEVER allow them to wear skirts!

  • Lucy B (Age 15) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 17:52

I think that boys should be allowed to wear a skirt if they want to, especially if they are not allowed to wear shorts.

  • Jens S (Age 15) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 18:04

I really wish shorts were allowed in my new school... :P

  • Ellie H (Age 13) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 18:08

Hmm...I'm not sure. Yes, I agree it's not fair that he should not be allowed to wear shorts...but is wearing a skirt going a little too far?

  • Ellyn D (Age 15) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 18:26

ood 4 him!! It is unfair, so he should fight for his rights!

  • Amirah A (Age 15) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 20:17

I think Chris is making a very good, clear and strong argument, whilst at the same time telling everyone about the unfairness of his school's uniform rules. However,I don't think that he should wear a skirt to school,as that is very silly, and shows the school up in a very bad way.The school seem very stubborn on the 'no shorts' rule, which I think is plain stupid.Go Chris!;)

  • Shona-Mae M (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 20:18

boys in my school wear shorts but the skirt 4 boys idea ..... lol !

  • Sofea S (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 16 May 2011 @ 21:07

  • Lara K (Age 16) wrote on Tuesday, 17 May 2011 @ 07:04

Of course it's not fair that girls get to wear skirts and they don't get to wear shorts other schools are allowed to so why can't his?

  • Bupe C (Age 15) wrote on Tuesday, 17 May 2011 @ 12:47

I totally agree, why do we have to wear uniform anyway?! i think that lads should be aloud to were shorts!

  • Arabella M (Age 13) wrote on Tuesday, 17 May 2011 @ 16:42

I think he was correct to stand up for his own rights!...It must be really hot wearing trousers all the time!

  • Keziah M (Age 16) wrote on Tuesday, 17 May 2011 @ 17:02

  • Holly R (Age 13) wrote on Tuesday, 17 May 2011 @ 18:05

i mean why do girls have to wear skirts and stuff anyway I THINK UNIFORM IS WRONG

  • Grace T (Age 14) wrote on Wednesday, 18 May 2011 @ 19:15

Chris is only making a fair point as I have personlly noticed that not very many high schools are allowing boys to ware shorts. This matter should generally be encouraged as there is nothing wrong with shorts and Mr.Campell has made a wrong turn that needs to be put right! But unfortantley this is only my opion and I hope Chris can get through with this moving campain thanks.

  • Jasmine H (Age 16) wrote on Thursday, 19 May 2011 @ 17:04

Well if they want to, I guess they can and should be allowed to. They are really brave and know what they strongly believe in it. So GOF FOR IT!

  • Holly B (Age 16) wrote on Sunday, 22 May 2011 @ 11:55

Good for him! I think he makes a very good point. It is a really clever thing to do. I wouldn't have thought of it! I think there should be a law saying that in the Summer boys ca wear shorts and girls can wear skirts without tights because at my school shorts aren't allowed and girls have to wear tights wih skirts!

  • Olivia S (Age 14) wrote on Sunday, 22 May 2011 @ 14:38

He's correct!! It's not fair for boys if they aren't aloud to wear what they want!!

  • Mayura U (Age 16) wrote on Sunday, 22 May 2011 @ 18:16

  • Anya B (Age 13) wrote on Tuesday, 24 May 2011 @ 18:01

  • Millie W (Age 12) wrote on Friday, 27 May 2011 @ 16:19

Good point, Chris! I think boys should DEFINENTLY be allowed to wear shorts, as they must be BOILING and girls would be cooler. I hope Chris wins the arguement and boys can wear shorts!!! Well done Chris! :)

  • Orla M (Age 12) wrote on Friday, 27 May 2011 @ 16:43

If you think something is wrong then you've got to put a stop to it. Do what you think is right and fight against what you think if wrong. He deserves to win hhis protest and he should not listen to a word of the teasing- they'll thank him some day.

there are no boys in my school but i think they should be allowed to wear shorts/skirts in the summer as in the winter girls wear tights and boys wear trousers and in the summer girls wear socks with their skirts so boys have a right to wear shorts if girls can do it boys can!!!!

He is so brave, boys should have a right to wear shorts because us girls are allowed to wear skirts and it's unfair. Also he is so brave I'm in year 8 and at my school he would get laughed at, especially by the older or by popular kids.

  • XiouSang C (Age 13) wrote on Wednesday, 23 November 2011 @ 21:21

Well done why should boys have to wear trousers in hot weather conditions? Their legs will be hot and stuffy and this will cause lack of consentration. It is not against the school rules so why shouldn't boys wear school skirts? just because boys don't usually wear school skirts and skirts are usually seen on girls doesn't mean that they can't. This just shows you if you really believe in something yoiu can acheieve it!

  • Isabel W (Age 16) wrote on Sunday, 29 July 2012 @ 16:33

Good for you Chris! It is lovely to see young children fighting for their rights. Boys should be allowed to wear shorts, why should they not be allowed to? As long as they are in school colours then there should be no problem. If anything it will help the children learn better because they will be learning in the right heat and not be getting to hot to learn. If girls are allowed to wear skirts, why can't boys wear shorts?!
