Edinburgh Zoo will soon be home to two giant pandas, it had been confirmed.

The Chinese and Scottish governments agreed a deal this week that will see a breeding pair of pandas, Tian Tian and Yuangguang sent to Edinburgh zoo from China, for 17 years.

This means that Scotland will become part of a worldwide breeding programme to help save giant pandas from extinction.

The deal between the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and the Chinese Wildlife Conservation Association has been in discussion for over three years and yesterday it was confirmed at Lancaster House in London, that the deal will go ahead.

Are you excited that Edinburgh Zoo will soon be home to these amazing animals?
