After five years of planning, giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang have finally arrived at Edinburgh Zoo.

Over the weekend, two new giant pandas arrived at Edinburgh Zoo. The pair were greeted by countless members of the public, who had gathered at the zoo to catch a glimpse of the new arrivals.

Tian Tian and Yang Guang are the first pandas to live in the UK for 17 years. They will go on display to the public in two weeks time, after getting used to their new home.

The pandas were a gift from China, but the operation to bring them to Scotland has taken five years of planning. The Scottish government has said that the arrival of Tian Tian and Yang Guang is a symbol of the "growing friendship" between the Scotland and China.

It is hoped that the giant pandas will give birth to cubs during their 10 year stay at the zoo.
