Flexible phone of the future

Researchers have developed a thin, interactive paper phone that can be bent or written on to perform tasks.

Researchers at Queen’s University Human Media Lab have described their creation as a “flexible iPhone”. They claim that it can do everything that a smartphone does, from making calls to playing music.

The PaperPhone can store books and to read them you simply need to bend the corner of the phone to turn the page.

The designers say that their gizmo doesn’t use any power when no-one is using it and say that it is the beginning of a “new generation of computers that are super-lightweight, thin-film and flexible”. They also say larger versions that can store hundreds of documents could lead to paperless offices.
