Leaving school and going out to work feels like a long way off at the moment, but everyone daydreams about the kind of job they might like to have when they’re older.

There’s a career out there for everyone, whatever your interests, and if you’re interested in the environment and making the world a better place, there are loads of jobs you could do.

A new website has lots of information on careers that will benefit people and the planet. Working to help the environment doesn’t just mean working outdoors on the land, careers in food, fashion, technology and other areas can all be ‘green’ too.

The Eden Project’s website, www.realcoolfutures.com helps you find the kinds of jobs you might like to do when you’re older. You can select a topic you’re interested in, such as sports, animals, computers, or shopping, and a list of people who do jobs in those areas pops up. Or, you can select a talent you possess, such as helping people, organising, or communicating and find a list of jobs that way. And if you’re really not sure you can click on the Random Job Generator to be given info on one of the many careers on the site.

By clicking on the examples given you can read all about people who do the job. For instance, if you like making stuff you can read, and watch a video, about Lawrence Toms who set up a business making paper from sheep poo in Wales.

Or, if you’re interested in fashion you can find out about Tom Kay who started designing clothes and now has a business making and selling ethical surf clothing in Cornwall.

Watch Tom’s videos below and to find out about more green careers log on to www.realcoolfutures.com.
