Crowboarding YouTube star

A video of a clever crow using a jar lid to ‘snowboard’ has been posted on YouTube.

The amazing footage was filmed on a mobile phone in Russia. It clearly shows the crow picking up the jar lid, taking it to the roof of a snowy building then standing on it while it slides down. The crow repeated the process a couple of times, even trying it on a patch of roof without snow before realising the trick worked better on a snowy surface.

The children who took the footage said: “Maybe it is teasing us.”

The brilliant clip has already attracted hundreds of hits on YouTube. Crows are notoriously clever and very good at solving puzzles.
