A Chinese man has grown a horn out of the back of his head
An 84-year-old Chinese man has grown a horn out of the back on his head.
Huang Yuanfan said that the horn started to grow two years ago. It started off as a small bump, but is now three inches long - and is still growing!
"I tried picking at it and even filing it but nothing changed it. The horn just kept getting bigger," he said. "Doctors say they don't know what caused it but if they try to take it off it will just come back. I try to hide it beneath a hat but if it gets much longer it will be sticking out the top."
Huang Yuanfan isn't the first person to grow a horn out of his head. Last year
101-year-old Zhang Ruifang from Linlou village, in central Chinas Henan province hit the headlines for growing a six centimetre tall horn on her head.
Her son Zhang Guozheng, 60, said that the horn started off as a patch of thick, rough skin, that grew in to a horn. Another one has started to form on the right side of her forehead.
These horns are known as cutaneous horns. Composed of keratin - the same stuff as your hair, these horns are rare and usually develop in elderly adults.
