As well as going by his surname to confuse people, Eddy writes about science, sport and video games for First News. His qualifications to do this include a degree in physics, some not particularly silky football skills, and many hours on his sofa.

Before the launch of First News, Eddy worked at music mag Smash Hits, and has interviewed everyone from David Beckham and Tom Daley to Cheryl Cole and McFly, as well as Ashes winners, Rugby World Cup winners, several Olympic gold medallists, world champions in various sports and more pop bands than you can shake a CD at.

He also claims to make a tasty risotto and was once bitten by a squirrel in Hyde Park.
