Write for the School News section of the newspaper
First News is always keen to hear reader’s news and opinions. The School News section of First News features reports sent in by children. So if your pupils are doing something sponsored for charity, starting their own school newspaper or putting on a show, encourage them to write a report and email it to newsdesk@firstnews.co.uk. Check out school news reports online now!
If the story is printed in the newspaper, the junior journalist is sent a First News certificate. Interesting stories can make it into the news pages too, like Jessica Trueman who made front page news when she wrote to First News to tell us about her campaign to stop her local library closing. Click here to read Jessica's story.
Tell all your budding young journalists to enter First News competitions too as winners are encouraged to write about their experiences for the newspaper. Check out junior journalist reports online now!
Post a comment on the website
Pupils can comment on stories in the news on the First News website. The most interesting comments written now appear in the weekly News Views column of the newspaper. All comments are monitored before they go live.
