Should we be allowed to film wild animals?

Wildlife film and programme makers should be more careful about intruding on animals’ lives, says a university lecturer.

Dr Brett Mills, from the University of East Anglia’s film and television department, says that people aren’t allowed to be filmed without their knowledge and maybe animals shouldn’t either. He says that if animals are showing ‘secretive’ behaviour then film makers shouldn’t see that as a challenge to find out what they’re doing but as a sign the animal wants to be left alone.

What do you think? Do you want to see what animals get up to in the wild or do you think programme makers should leave them alone?
