Do you think that first aid should be taught in schools?
Learning first aid says St John Ambulance, will help prevent thousands of deaths each year.
Do you know first aid? Well, according to St John Ambulance four times more people die (when first aid could have saved them), than die from lung cancer each year.
St John Ambulance says 150,000 people could be saved with first aid each year. Situations where a person is choking or suffering a heart attack could be helped if someone with first aid training tends to them until medical help arrives.
The charity wants everyone to learn basic first aid skills to help people in life-threatening situations. They are giving away a free pocket-sized guide on what to do if someone is choking, having a heart attack, bleeding severely or not breathing. To get your copy and to find out more go to www.sja.org.uk/sja.
