Comments: There is no point of SATS, whereas there is a point of entrance exams and the 11+. SATS are also very stressful and pressurising. Teachers and pupils alike find the SATS stressful, which is bad, because it could affect the results in the test.

Comments: I think we should keep sats because they help to decide what set or class that students should start secondary in which can help the student gradually develop their education so they can get better qualifications for a job when they are older. Comments: I had to do S.A.Ts when i was in yr6 (I'm now in yr7) and I feel it would be unfair if no-one had to do them now! They've dropped science already! But I do think that some teachers pressure kids a lot when they don't need to. Though they do get you prepared for the exams in high school and it gives you a bit of experience so it dosen't seem such a shock in other exams in the future you will have to do.

Comments: Im in Year 8 now and when I moved up to secondary school I wasnt put into sets apart from maths so the test results didnt mke a blind bit of difference as everyones targets were mostly the same- all they are about are school leaguetables and schools shouldnt be judged on what exam reslts they get because it doesnt show the true nature of how the teachers teach!!!!

Comments: People would ban them so they don't have to face them because they're boring, but they get you ready for the big exams in high school and pushes you to get the best grade possible at the end of the year. SATS are like any other test you get, so shouldn't be stressful, they should encourage you to do them because they will raise your score in exams and help learn things. By the time you have done a few, they'll become less stressed and confident about them. Some people even enjoy them? So why ban?

Comments: I think the SATs are definitely a good idea because they help you get put in sets for secondary school, the problem i have with them is the way they teach to the test, but that's not a problem with SATs that's a problem with the way teachers are helping children prepare for them. You can still teach the curriculum fully and revise for SATs
