The oldest fridge in Britain is 56 and still working!
Owned by Edmund Garrod, the General Electric Company DE.30 fridge cost £69 when it was brand new (£1,415 in today's money).
Mr Garrod said: "I'm one of these people who feels if something is working then keep it until it breaks."
Most people replace their electrical items when newer, shinier versions come out. Even though they still work perfectly well.
Do you feel under pressure to buy the newest, shiniest gadget? Would you trade in your old phone even if it still worked?
