Year 10 pupils on campaign to send children to school
A group of Year 10 pupils told a Government boss that millions of children need to get to school.
Business secretary Vince Cable visited Waldegrave School to hear a talk by Year 10 pupils who are taking part in the 1Goal Send My Friend to School campaign.
The campaign asks world leaders to get 72 million children around the world into school. Waldegrave School is one of 8,000 schools making scarves with messages calling for global education for all, and these were presented to Mr Cable.
Amber, 14, said: “If we get together as a team and we really try hard then we can make a difference. Each and every one of us can change this horrific situation where millions of children are missing an education and school.”
Mr Cable said: “The presentation from Waldegrave was highly professional and was a very powerful message of support for global education. I fully support what the pupils are trying to achieve.”
