Would YOU eat an insect burger?
The United Nations want YOU to eat insects. Find out why below...
The United Nations say that eating insects may be the way to stop the food crisis, overcrowding and save the planet.
20% of greenhouse gases are caused by farming. As the world's population grows, more and more land will be needed to raise meat, which will then cause more greenhouse gasses and leave less land to build houses on.
"There is a meat crisis," says Professor Arnold van Huis. "The world population will grow from six billion now to nine billion by 2050 and we know people are consuming more meat. If we continue like this we will need another Earth."
Eating insects instead of meat saves space and produces 10 times less methane and 300 times less nitrous oxide, two greenhouse gases.
Insects are also rich in protein, vitamins and minerals.
Van Huis thinks that the solution might be grinding insects into burgers so that you can't see what you are eating.
