World's first indoor BMX track to be built in Manchester
Work has started in Manchester on the world's first indoor BMX track.
GB BMX star Shanaze Reade was there as the work began.
"I can’t wait to train here to try and get a gold medal at London 2012," she said. "I also really hope it encourages more local kids to take up the sport.”
The National Indoor BMX Centre is being built beside the Manchester Velodrome, as part of a world-class cycling centre. The BMX Centre is due to be finished by April 2011.
