Usain Bolt and Lightning Bolt the cheetah cub he adopted

World's fastest man Usain Bolt adopts a cheetah - watch the video!

Well, he wouldn't want to walk a tortoise, would he?

The world's fastest man Usain Bolt has adopted the world’s fastest land animal, a baby cheetah.

The Jamaican sprinter has sponsored a three-month-old male cheetah for £8,500 and will spend an extra £1,800 a year to carry on looking after it.

His adoption is part of an effort to help protect wildlife in the African country Kenya.

The record holder has named his cub Lightning Bolt. The money Usain has donated will go to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) who will use some of it to help protect Kenya’s endangered species.

However, the confident sprinter was scared to stroke a fully grown cheetah and nearly ran away before he saw the big cat was harmless!
