World Cup news and results - day two
England have started their World Cup campaign with a draw and a tragic goalkeeping error.
In England's first match in the World Cup, an absolute howler by Rob Green allowed the USA to sneak a draw. Although the Americans had some good chances, England looked more dangerous in the final third. However, captain Steven Gerrard's early goal was the only time that they got the ball in the back of the net.
A few minutes before half-time, the USA's Clint Dempsey hit a hopeful shot from 25 yards. It should have been easy for any keeper to deal with, but Green let it squirm past his right hand.
In the day's first match, South Korea proved to be much better than a dreadful Greece side. An excellent run and shot from Manchester United's Park Ji-sung made it 2-0, and the Koreans thoroughly deserved their win. With Argentina and Nigeria still to come, it seems a certainty that Greece will not qualify for the knockout stages.
Those last two teams met in the day's second game, with an excellent Argentina outclassing Nigeria for most of the game. Argentina would have scored a hatful if it wasn't for the excellent form of Nigeria's Vincent Enyeama between the posts. He denied Lionel Messi with a few top-class saves and prevented an embarrassing scoreline.
Results from day two:
South Korea 2-0 Greece
Argentina 1-0 Nigeria
England 1-1 USA

Robert Green should have done better. He's a trained pro and he can't even do a small save. If he had saved it we would have won the match. If we can't beat the USA then we'll never be able to beat the likes of Germaqny, Italy spain or Brazil.I think Robert Green should have done better.
