World champion Jessica Ennis wins a place at Madame Tussauds London

World Champion Heptathlete, Jessica Ennis's waxwork has been unveiled at Madame Tussauds, London.

As the countdown to next year’s Olympic Games hots up in earnest Madame Tussauds today paid tribute to team GB as one of its brightest hopes, World Champion Heptathlete, Jessica Ennis unveiled her new wax figure.

Portrayed in an iconic post-race celebration pose with her arms raised triumphantly as she proudly holds aloft a Union Jack flag, the real Jessica was blown away by her wax double.

"I cannot believe just how realistic it is," commented the 25 year old World Champion. "They've got me down to a tee. Every little detail is so accurate from the eyes, right down to my abs - it is quite strange to be looking at your exact double!"

Jessica gave sculptors a sitting in March where hundreds of precise measurements were taken. The figure, which wears kit donated by Jessica, took four months to complete at a cost of £150,000.
