Wolverines may vanish from mainland America
Mysterious wolverines may vanish from mainland America.
Mysterious wolverines may vanish from mainland America due to climate change, according to scientists.
The fierce animals are only found in cold climates, and are rarely seen anywhere that gets warmer than 22°C.
Warmer summers and the decline in spring snow in the US may cause the species to struggle to survive in Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and Washington State – the areas they are currently found.
There is a lot of concern about the future of the wolverine and some states are thinking about reintroducing them in an effort to try and conserve the species.
Should more be done to stop animals from becoming extinct?
