Wishes launched at 'Bay of Hope'

Every December, Marina Bay in Singapore is transformed into the 'Bay of Hope', when wishes are written on white spheres and set free down the river.

A worker arranges hundreds of white lantern balls inscribed with wishes and greetings floating on the Singapore river ahead of New Year holiday celebrations in Singapore.

There are about 20,000 floating white spheres, on which New Year wishes have been written by Singaporeans since early last month.

Every year people are invited to go to 'wish stations' and write their wishes on the white lanterns which are set free into the river. On New year's Eve, concerts are held on a floating stage and there are fireworks displays above the floating wishes.

This is the sixth year that the 'Bay of Hope' has been running.

Children wrote wishes like "I wish that I can do better in my exams next year and I wish my family can be rich" and "I wish I could be Justin Bieber".

See more wishes in the video below. What would you wish for?
