Whitney Houston's record sales boom after death
Sales of Whitney Houston's records are continuing to soar after the singer's death last week.
Fans have bought more than 887,000 of Whitney Houston's songs online since her death last week. This means that 22 of her songs are in the Top 200 record charts.
During her lifetime, Whitney Houston sold 170 million records and had 30 hit singles in the UK. You may find many of her hits in your family’s music collection.
In an unexpected twist, Country and Western singer Dolly Parton is set to make millions from the singer's death.
Dolly Parton wrote I Will Always Love You in 1973. Whitney Houston later covered the song in her 1992 film The Bodyguard, and it stayed number one in the singles charts for 14 weeks.
Because Dolly Parton owns the song, she will get the majority of the profits from every sale.
Dolly Parton has been quoted as saying how devestated she is over Whitney Houston's death. She said: "I will always be grateful and in awe of the wonderful performance she did on my song.
"Like everybody else, I am still in shock," she said. But I know that Whitney will live forever in all the great music that she left behind.
"I will always have a very special piece of her in the song we shared together and had the good fortune to share with the world. Rest in peace, Whitney. Again, we will always love you."
Whitney Houston who was found dead in her hotel room, was known to have problems with alcohol and drugs.
