Which animals will be extinct in 2012?
A LIST of all the animals that are so endangered they may go extinct in 2012 has been drawn up.
In the last 100 years, around 10,000 species have gone extinct and more are predicted for 2012.
The Global Species Assessment has been put together by Conservation International.
Among the animals at risk this year are one in three amphibians, almost half of all turtles and tortoises, one in eight birds, one in four mammals, plus lot of plants.
Species going extinct can be down to lots of factors, but most are the fault of humans. Pollution, loss of habitat and hunting are three of the major factors that affect the population of a species.

Most likely, the species that will go extinct is the tree frog of the Amazong rainforest. Not every type, but they are slowly decreasing. To help this species, zooligists could create a breeding program, and if succesful, the tree frog would be saved! However, another much more difficult but much better way is to STOP chopping down endangered forest trees. That's what i think :)

I think that deforestation should be cut back as it is killing animals.
