We've been learning about the sinking of the Titanic...

Our class has been learning all about the sinking of the Titanic and the effect it had.

For our topic on the Titanic, we wrote newspaper reports, using a checklist of questions, created a talking textile, slide shows using pictures of Titanic artefacts and class blogs, timelines and we even made wooden models with Charlotte’s grandad. We went on a trip to The Liverpool Maritime Museum, which was brilliant and had lots to see and do. We had lots of questions that we wanted answers to.

We don’t agree that the first class passengers were allowed off first. Everyone should have a fair chance. Money does not make you more important – only in the case of the Titanic it did!

The idea that the Titanic was unsinkable was wrong. We think that It was travelling too fast with Iceberg warnings, just so it could arrive in New York early.

Unfortunately it made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. What do you think?
