We're running 1,407km for charity!

The Year 6 children at Harlands Primary School are taking on their toughest challenge yet – running an amazing 1,407km for charity.

This year, the children are going to run a whopping 1,407km in just 22 days!

This involves the Year 6 pupils running at least 1km each day.

We are doing it because it is for an incredible charity called Children In Need. Children In Need helps thousands of children every year who are going through tough situations in life, such as an illness that a family member might have or a lack of a home or money.

An extremely generous pupil from Year 6 named Claudia said: “I’m not that keen on running but I want to do it because it is for a good cause.”

The substantial 1,407km sounds hard to do in 22 days but we can do it together as a year group.

We are lucky to benefit from the use of the local sixth form college’s field, which we have been running around.

What is even more amazing is that, even though two children are on crutches with broken legs, they are still participating.

One of these children said: “I may be on crutches but the children in need face more pain than me.”
