We went to the flash BRDC clubhouse at Silverstone!

The Variety Club, Ferrari and BEN – the automotive charity – set up an event for deserving kids to experience the thrill of being driven in a Ferrari.

The 50 kids involved were nominated by the Variety Club and came with their families to the flash BRDC clubhouse at Silverstone, which normally isn’t available to non-drivers!

While they weren’t racing, the kids also got to compete in a race of their own – using a giant Hot Wheels race track! Tom, who recently recovered from cancer, enjoyed the day and his mum had this to say about it: “The look on the faces of Tom and the other children as they got out of their Ferrari is something I will remember for a long time!”

Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason was also there and sports presenter Steve Rider also attended. A lucky few got to ride with Silver Star winner Jason Plato, who did some sneaky drifting! To top it all off, footage of each child from an in-car camera was presented to them at the end of the day!

It was a fantastic day for a wonderful charity.
