We held a cake sale for charity
We have been raising money for a charity called Bliss. It is for premature babies. My teacher, Mrs Pettman, had a baby who was premature so she wanted to raise money for this charity.
We decided to do a cake sale to the parents and children in our school. First, we decided to make cakes but we did not know what the most popular cupcake was so we did a survey. We went round to all the classes in the school and asked them what their favourite cake was and make them.
When all of the children had made all of the cakes there were 350 cupcakes and 80 rice crispy cakes. We did not have enough cupcakes so mums and dads made more.
The day we sold the cakes felt like a special day. First we set up the hall and then we started selling. All 13 classes in our school came plus parents and the head teacher. We enjoyed selling our cakes and we think the children liked to eat them!
When we counted the money at the end of the sale we had raised £285.80. We were very happy by how much money we raised.
