Did psychic octopus die three months ago?

Was psychic octopus death faked?

A journalist has claimed that Paul the psychic octopus might have died three months ago...

A journalist has alleged that Paul the psychic octopus in fact died three months ago.

Journalist Jiang Xiao, said in her forthcoming thriller, entitled "Who Killed Paul the Octopus?", that she is "60 to 70% sure" that Paul died in July, shortly before the last World Cup match and that he was secretly switched aquarium staff.

"Octopuses all look the same. It is impossible to tell the difference," she said.

Staff at the Oberhausen Sea Life Centre in Germany have rejected her claims, saying: "It is certainly not true that Paul died in the summer. We can absolutely assure you that he died last night. He was about two and a half, which is the average age for an octopus. He died a simple and straightforward death."
