Short tailed fruit bat Lil' Drac was abandoned by his mother after the pair were forced to move zoos and she became very stressed.

Lil' Drac was found on the padded floor of their new home at the Bat World Sanctuary, curled up in a little ball.

He was rescued by staff who began to hand feed him using a foam tip dipped in milk.

Unfortunately, the battle wasn't over for Lil' Drac - his rescuers discovered that he has a tiny hole in his palate that causes milk to come out of his nose. If he isn't fed very slowly, the milk could go down the wrong hole and he would suffocate.

Luckily, vets say that the so small that once he is on solid food it should not cause him any problems.
