  • Henry B (Age 14) wrote on Friday, 15 October 2010 @ 07:34

awful I think they should keep foxes out of the city. So they won't get killed

  • Katie D (Age 16) wrote on Thursday, 21 October 2010 @ 17:18

It's a terrible thing that happened, but still, it doesn't mean foxes are all bad. It's down to the parents really for leaving the back door open!

  • Sofea S (Age 14) wrote on Friday, 22 October 2010 @ 13:14

I feel so sorry for the girls. Foxes can be really dangerous!

  • Daisy H (Age 13) wrote on Thursday, 28 October 2010 @ 08:32

I love foxes! It is cruel to trap them but if they've done something like that...

  • Sofea S (Age 14) wrote on Sunday, 31 October 2010 @ 18:25

It isn't the parents fault I don't think. Apparently they left the door open because it was really hot that day and that makes sense because this incident was in the spring or summer. :)

  • Katie D (Age 16) wrote on Thursday, 4 November 2010 @ 16:19

I still think they shouldn't leave the door open! That's what windows are for and I think it mostly is the parent's fault. Still, not completely their fault.

  • Neelam M (Age 16) wrote on Friday, 5 November 2010 @ 18:13

... and this was the story of the 2 little twins and the big bad fox!

  • Godwin P (Age 13) wrote on Wednesday, 10 November 2010 @ 11:31

I know that what the fox did was bad but the fox still had a right to live. Some people believe that foxes are dangerous but we all know that some foxes can be tame.

  • Suzanne M (Age 16) wrote on Friday, 12 November 2010 @ 17:38

Foxes are wild animals, they act on instinct and it's not their fault. I speak as a vegetarian and animal lover.

  • Abby M (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 15 November 2010 @ 20:22

I do not think it is the parents fault- Im sure on a hot day you have had the door open- it never said it was in the night. Also, you dont expect a fox to come in your house so I dont think they should have looked out for it. It is the foxes fault and nobody elses. The fox should be killed i mean, they cant put the fox in jail and what else can they do? It is wrong to blame the parents and feel sorry for the fox. If a fox attacked you would you feel sorry for it? I dont think so.

  • Rachel F (Age 15) wrote on Tuesday, 23 November 2010 @ 13:41

those babys are very very unfortunate. that was like a 1 in a 1,000,000,000 chance of being attacked. i love foxes, they killed a fox, i would understand if it was definatly the one that attacked but they didn't confirm it, now that's just cruel.

  • Aatreyie K (Age 14) wrote on Wednesday, 1 December 2010 @ 19:24

  • Mia T (Age 12) wrote on Saturday, 11 December 2010 @ 18:05

I think it's all the parents fault really and I do feal sorry for those twins but I don't think they should of done that cruel thing to the fox becuase he didn't kill the twins so why should they kill him?

  • Melanie W (Age 10) wrote on Tuesday, 21 December 2010 @ 12:32

  • Loren M (Age 16) wrote on Wednesday, 5 January 2011 @ 14:38

  • Sarah P (Age 14) wrote on Saturday, 8 January 2011 @ 09:46

  • Anna B (Age 15) wrote on Tuesday, 25 January 2011 @ 19:07

  • Mia F (Age 11) wrote on Sunday, 20 February 2011 @ 08:42

Poor twins!Cruel fox!Once one stole my boot.I can't bear to think of this happen to the twins. Why would the fox do this? The parents are NOT to blame at all.Everyone leaves their door open at summer and there were no warnings and nobody expexts a fox to go in. So,it is not the parent's fault!!!

I feel sorry for the two children as they will probably hate all foxes now and for the parents as they will have to be extra careful and they are probably really freaked out.

hang on everyone, remember its the fox's instinct it eats meat. And the parents should have been regularly checking the door and their children. It may have not been the right fox so an innocent animal may have been killed, do you really want to say its good that it was 'humanly' killed. Just like rats in traps. How would you like it if your dog got angry and bit someone, then it was put down. Yes it is sad for the twins they will be scared for life but they're not dead like the poor fox. And if it was young then you've killed a young fox and just got two young hurt babies.

  • Katie D (Age 16) wrote on Wednesday, 8 June 2011 @ 16:58

It's not the fault of the fox! It's a natural instinct of a fox and the parents should have seen the fox coming in. How hard is it to spot a FOX for goodness' sake! :)

  • George P (Age 14) wrote on Sunday, 3 July 2011 @ 14:08

what we really need is fox protection for houses and rabbit hutches, and if that doesn't work, well, what will. Foxes are used to people now, so I think we should start taking some serious actions

  • Soha A (Age 15) wrote on Monday, 4 July 2011 @ 18:49

  • Kate G (Age 15) wrote on Saturday, 16 July 2011 @ 13:05

I agree with honeyjake because 1 they shouldn't really of left the door open and 2. It is foxes instinct to get food. Some people kill foxes to eat them or just for the joy of it. I think that we are a bit liuke hypocrytes :( It is sad though, that that happened

  • Amy C (Age 13) wrote on Thursday, 21 July 2011 @ 15:29

very sad but thats what they get for leaving the back door open POOR BABIES

  • Elizabeth O (Age 14) wrote on Friday, 22 July 2011 @ 15:40

Yes, that fox shouldn't of harmed those babies, but did they have to 'humanly' kill a fox that's probably innocent?

  • Nicolas R (Age 10) wrote on Sunday, 31 July 2011 @ 16:31

i think it was mean of the fox to fight the baby's but they didn't need to kill an innocent if they carry on with there traps all the fox's in the world will be extinct poor fox and poor twins

  • Emily D (Age 17) wrote on Friday, 5 August 2011 @ 19:42

This is going to sound mean but i hate foxes, atleast a year ago if i even sore a picture of a fox i would cry, i'm terrified of them. I think i'm more worried that they are going to eat my chickens more that anything but i think oganisation like the RSPCA should do something about the growing number in the amout of foxes living in the city. I believe that sometimes if a fox from a city has been released after being taken to a animals shelter they are relaested into the coutryside but they don't live fixe mins as its not there home realy! i wish the twins have a speedy recovery!!!x

  • Beth M (Age 14) wrote on Saturday, 6 August 2011 @ 13:13

Poor twins hope they get better soon. But no wonder that the goverment is always saying this is going extinct but really its them who are killing all these poor animals. If people are killing animals for killing people then people are in the wrong to for killing the animals so the animals kill the people for killing the animals that how it works.

  • Freya T (Age 14) wrote on Friday, 9 September 2011 @ 19:16

ITS NOT THE FOXES OR THE PARENTS FAULT!!! The fox was only hungry it wanted food we kill animals and we're ok with foxes killing animals so why is it so wrong for a fox to do this? I know what some people think and I AM REALLY SORRY FOR THE TWINS AND PARENTS but what did the fox do wrong? It wanted foo so it tried to get food. Its realy sad but its not the fox's fault. Also the parents are right to leave door open but they should have kept a closer eye on the babies. I thought parents watched their babies like hell but probably not when their asleep though I suppose. If the parents were asleep then why was the door open just use a window? If it was day ok for door to be open but wouldn't you see/hear a fox going through your house? I still think its no-one's fault but its mean to kill any fox just because one did something wrong. Sorry for babies and parents and fox!

  • Katie D (Age 16) wrote on Friday, 16 September 2011 @ 12:08

Okay listen, it's not like the fox actually KILLED the twins is it? And it's really hypocritical to say that foxes should be destroyed or anything like that because I'm sure most of you people have pets! How would you like to have a dog or cat put down? It's the same as having a fox killed - and it would have been an INNOCENT fox; there's no way it could have been the same fox killed. As I have said above, for goodness' sake how hard is it to spot a fox coming into the house?! :P

  • Eleanor M (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 14 November 2011 @ 17:18

Foxes are my favorite animals!!!!! At my primary school, all the kids in my class used to go 'I hate foxes! They eat babies!' The fox that attacked the babies was almost certainly a Urban (town) fox. In London, there are lots of foxes, and it is very hard to come by food to feed them all. I predict that the fox found the house, went in to look for food, and found the babies instead. But at least the fox captured was killed humanely... :(

  • Isabel P (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 14 November 2011 @ 20:08

The parents shouldn't have let the door open but they shouldn't be laying traps down because they will end up killing more foxes than they should. The fox didn't understand and so I think it was an accident although you shouldn't leave yout back door open at night as things like this will happen.

  • Katie D (Age 16) wrote on Tuesday, 15 November 2011 @ 19:09

Although this was bad, you cannot say that the fox was not at fault because it was as well. It shouldn't have been there and it asked for what it got unfortunately. :(

  • Ayla H (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 5 December 2011 @ 15:51

  • Rachel O (Age 14) wrote on Thursday, 8 December 2011 @ 14:49

it was nobodys fault, foxes do not stop killing a rabbit in the wild, a baby is like a peice of prey to them, their instinct is more powerful than you think, they do not care if it is a baby or not, to them its food, also, i am against killing animals but, it happens everyday. in the artic, artic foxes are being killed, shot, trapped in cages, Also foxes usually are alone they have a 4 out of 5 chance out of catching the right fox, also, before the fox was killed they would have checked DNA from the scars of the babies then check with the foxes before killing it,

That is HORRIBLE! IT is really good to know that those two little baby girls were OK. I feel so sorry for them! The parents should have been more careful though. If they were leaving the back door open, then they should have stayed with the babies to make sure they were safe. Or, they should have put the babies in another room. I agree with redhorse, it can't be that hard to spot a great big fox in your house, can it? And it wasn't the foxes fault!!! It is TERRIBLE that a random fox was killed. It was probably just an innocent animal. What if it had babies? They would die too, all by themselves.

I disagree with ecobitter person. It is the foxes instincs. Its the parents fault. But if a human kills or hurts a fox the human doesnt get killed. So why should the fox die?

I agree with Shaymin123. Foxes shouldn't be killed. same as we should't. its no different. its just plain evil. it was obviously a different fox so its us murdering innocent animals. I know its bad to have your face ripped off when your 9 months old but you cant just blame all foxes. Anyway its so rare for an attack by a fox, no one can jump to conclusions!

  • Isabella D (Age 13) wrote on Sunday, 18 March 2012 @ 08:19

They shouldn't have killed the fox.

  • Madeline S (Age 11) wrote on Saturday, 24 March 2012 @ 11:04

  • Bethany R (Age 15) wrote on Saturday, 31 March 2012 @ 14:59

humans are animals as well if a fox killed a chicken you would go poor chicken oh well fox kills highly evolved ANIMAL you go fox hunt. laws were passed against hunts on horses with dogs going after foxes. how long was that fox waiting to be killed and what does humanely killed mean

  • Georgia B (Age 13) wrote on Tuesday, 3 April 2012 @ 14:49

Its there parents faulght Foxes are so Adorable and have done nothing wrong !!

  • Evie S (Age 14) wrote on Thursday, 5 April 2012 @ 17:27

That is harsh, and ruby, foxes are not adorable, they are vermin

  • Jessica W (Age 12) wrote on Friday, 6 April 2012 @ 20:56

that is just horrible. i can't believe a creature would even want to attack the poor twins. What have they done??? The poor parents must be blaming themselves, but they shouldn't, the fox is solely to blame.

  • Emily W (Age 13) wrote on Monday, 9 April 2012 @ 08:21

This is awful but this happened to the twin babies and the parents will feel regret and be annoyed with themselves as they will blame them. dogs have also been known to attack humans. Foxes don't know any better if it is food they'll eat it they live in the wild do not blame the foxes!

  • Eleanor M (Age 14) wrote on Monday, 9 April 2012 @ 13:18

And it turns out the family had actuallly been feeding the fox!

  • Jessica W (Age 12) wrote on Sunday, 15 April 2012 @ 18:32

ecobittern wow!!! Why would the fox attack babies if they had been feeding the fox??

  • Victoria G (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 16 April 2012 @ 16:48

OK its not nice for 9 month yr old babies to be attack but fox attacks are the article said so that fox they put down was unfair because you could not be sure if that was the fox that attacked the babies

  • Victoria G (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 16 April 2012 @ 16:49

they did not feed the box roxiechic

  • Lea N (Age 12) wrote on Sunday, 22 April 2012 @ 11:14

  • Eve B (Age 14) wrote on Tuesday, 24 April 2012 @ 17:32

  • Weyal B (Age 13) wrote on Sunday, 13 May 2012 @ 14:27

why kill the fox and why leave the backdoor open?

  • Louise M (Age 15) wrote on Friday, 25 May 2012 @ 20:48

If somebody never left their back door open in case a fox came in, then most would find that strange as foxs don't generally enter houses. I feel so sorry for the twins and their family.

  • Emma W (Age 13) wrote on Sunday, 27 May 2012 @ 14:08

Poor twins. The fox that was killed might have been innocent! Also, the parents should have kept an eye on the babies!

  • Fatima K (Age 11) wrote on Wednesday, 30 May 2012 @ 20:22

Perhaps they have let the fox go into a forest, not kill it.

  • JL J (Age 13) wrote on Saturday, 25 August 2012 @ 18:38

This is a difficult situation to take sides on as I love foxes but I also think it must have been quite traumatizing for those poor girls.

  • Calum C (Age 11) wrote on Saturday, 15 December 2012 @ 16:13

  • Eden W (Age 12) wrote on Sunday, 3 February 2013 @ 17:15

I couldn't imagine a fox to do such a thing! I love animals- there must be a reason why the fox did it. Poor twins though, i hope they get better as they grow up

  • Jacob C (Age 10) wrote on Sunday, 10 February 2013 @ 09:36

  • Saleka N (Age 13) wrote on Wednesday, 13 February 2013 @ 11:11

That is really terrible. The population of foxes in urban areas is increasing and the goverment really should do something about it because foxes seem to be harrassing everyone and the situation is escalating.
