Twin babies attacked by fox
Twin baby girls have been hospitalised following a fox attack...
Twin baby girls from East London were rushed to hospital with facial and arm injuries following a fox attack.
The nine-month-old twins Isabella and Lola Koupparis were asleep in their bedroom when a fox crept in through an open back door and up to their bedroom where it attacked the sleeping babies.
When they heard their babies crying their parents, Nick and Pauline Koupparis chased the fox away and called an ambulance.
The babies were rushed to the Royal London Hospital where they were described as 'serious, but stable'.
Environmental health officers from the council have left traps to catch the fox in case it hurts any more children. A fox was caught in one earlier today and was humanely destroyed. Though, experts do not know if it was the fox which attacked the babies.
The RSPCA said fox attacks on humans in the UK were extremely rare.

It's a terrible thing that happened, but still, it doesn't mean foxes are all bad. It's down to the parents really for leaving the back door open!

It isn't the parents fault I don't think. Apparently they left the door open because it was really hot that day and that makes sense because this incident was in the spring or summer. :)

Abzie (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 15 November 2010 @ 20:22
I do not think it is the parents fault- Im sure on a hot day you have had the door open- it never said it was in the night. Also, you dont expect a fox to come in your house so I dont think they should have looked out for it. It is the foxes fault and nobody elses. The fox should be killed i mean, they cant put the fox in jail and what else can they do? It is wrong to blame the parents and feel sorry for the fox. If a fox attacked you would you feel sorry for it? I dont think so.
yoyoparrot (Age 13) wrote on Tuesday, 23 November 2010 @ 13:41
those babys are very very unfortunate. that was like a 1 in a 1,000,000,000 chance of being attacked. i love foxes, they killed a fox, i would understand if it was definatly the one that attacked but they didn't confirm it, now that's just cruel.

hang on everyone, remember its the fox's instinct it eats meat. And the parents should have been regularly checking the door and their children. It may have not been the right fox so an innocent animal may have been killed, do you really want to say its good that it was 'humanly' killed. Just like rats in traps. How would you like it if your dog got angry and bit someone, then it was put down. Yes it is sad for the twins they will be scared for life but they're not dead like the poor fox. And if it was young then you've killed a young fox and just got two young hurt babies.

I think i'm more worried that they are going to eat my chickens more that anything but i think oganisation like the RSPCA should do something about the growing number in the amout of foxes living in the city. I believe that sometimes if a fox from a city has been released after being taken to a animals shelter they are relaested into the coutryside but they don't live fixe mins as its not there home realy! i wish the twins have a speedy recovery!!!x

ITS NOT THE FOXES OR THE PARENTS FAULT!!! The fox was only hungry it wanted food we kill animals and we're ok with foxes killing animals so why is it so wrong for a fox to do this? I know what some people think and I AM REALLY SORRY FOR THE TWINS AND PARENTS but what did the fox do wrong? It wanted foo so it tried to get food. Its realy sad but its not the fox's fault. Also the parents are right to leave door open but they should have kept a closer eye on the babies. I thought parents watched their babies like hell but probably not when their asleep though I suppose. If the parents were asleep then why was the door open just use a window? If it was day ok for door to be open but wouldn't you see/hear a fox going through your house? I still think its no-one's fault but its mean to kill any fox just because one did something wrong. Sorry for babies and parents and fox!
redhorse10 (Age 14) wrote on Friday, 16 September 2011 @ 12:08
Okay listen, it's not like the fox actually KILLED the twins is it? And it's really hypocritical to say that foxes should be destroyed or anything like that because I'm sure most of you people have pets! How would you like to have a dog or cat put down? It's the same as having a fox killed - and it would have been an INNOCENT fox; there's no way it could have been the same fox killed. As I have said above, for goodness' sake how hard is it to spot a fox coming into the house?! :P

Foxes are my favorite animals!!!!! At my primary school, all the kids in my class used to go 'I hate foxes! They eat babies!' The fox that attacked the babies was almost certainly a Urban (town) fox. In London, there are lots of foxes, and it is very hard to come by food to feed them all. I predict that the fox found the house, went in to look for food, and found the babies instead. But at least the fox captured was killed humanely... :(
cutiepie12 (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 14 November 2011 @ 20:08

it was nobodys fault, foxes do not stop killing a rabbit in the wild, a baby is like a peice of prey to them, their instinct is more powerful than you think, they do not care if it is a baby or not, to them its food, also, i am against killing animals but, it happens everyday. in the artic, artic foxes are being killed, shot, trapped in cages, Also foxes usually are alone they have a 4 out of 5 chance out of catching the right fox, also, before the fox was killed they would have checked DNA from the scars of the babies then check with the foxes before killing it,

I agree with redhorse, it can't be that hard to spot a great big fox in your house, can it? And it wasn't the foxes fault!!! It is TERRIBLE that a random fox was killed. I agree with Shaymin123. Foxes shouldn't be killed. same as we should't. its no different. its just plain evil. it was obviously a different fox so its us murdering innocent animals. I know its bad to have your face ripped off when your 9 months old but you cant just blame all foxes. Anyway its so rare for an attack by a fox, no one can jump to conclusions!
Debategirl (Age 11) wrote on Sunday, 18 March 2012 @ 08:19
They shouldn't have killed the fox.

fluffandme (Age 13) wrote on Saturday, 31 March 2012 @ 14:59
humans are animals as well if a fox killed a chicken you would go poor chicken oh well fox kills highly evolved ANIMAL you go fox hunt. laws were passed against hunts on horses with dogs going after foxes. how long was that fox waiting to be killed and what does humanely killed mean

bongdalucy (Age 12) wrote on Thursday, 5 April 2012 @ 17:27
That is harsh, and ruby, foxes are not adorable, they are vermin
roxiechic (Age 10) wrote on Friday, 6 April 2012 @ 20:56
that is just horrible. i can't believe a creature would even want to attack the poor twins. What have they done??? The poor parents must be blaming themselves, but they shouldn't, the fox is solely to blame.
torchbear (Age 11) wrote on Monday, 9 April 2012 @ 08:21
This is awful but this happened to the twin babies and the parents will feel regret and be annoyed with themselves as they will blame them. dogs have also been known to attack humans. Foxes don't know any better if it is food they'll eat it they live in the wild do not blame the foxes!
EcoBittern (Age 12) wrote on Monday, 9 April 2012 @ 13:18

girlonfire (Age 10) wrote on Sunday, 15 April 2012 @ 12:41
I hope the babies were all right!I still think it was the parents fault that this happened
roxiechic (Age 10) wrote on Sunday, 15 April 2012 @ 18:32
ecobittern wow!!! Why would the fox attack babies if they had been feeding the fox??
vicky864 (Age 10) wrote on Monday, 16 April 2012 @ 16:48
OK its not nice for 9 month yr old babies to be attack but fox attacks are the article said so that fox they put down was unfair because you could not be sure if that was the fox that attacked the babies
vicky864 (Age 10) wrote on Monday, 16 April 2012 @ 16:49

dawn123145 (Age 10) wrote on Sunday, 22 April 2012 @ 11:14

Warriorcat (Age 12) wrote on Tuesday, 24 April 2012 @ 17:32
I agree with dawn123145 because foxes are rarer than humans and also better x
footiegirl (Age 11) wrote on Saturday, 28 April 2012 @ 10:37
