Tourist taken to hospital after bungee jump cord snaps

A young tourist has had a lucky escape after the cord on her bungee jump snapped.

Erin Langworthy was backpacking across Africa when she signed up for the daring jump. But, moments after taking the leap, the 22-year-old’s bungee cord broke and the Australian fell head-first into the Zambezi river!

As if that wasn’t scary enough, the river on Zambia’s border with Zimbabwe is well known for its crocodile-infested waters.

After several minutes stuck underwater, Miss Langworthy managed to swim to safety. She was taken to hospital with bad bruising and is now recovering from her ordeal.

    OMG..that's scary...i wouldn't even do it if the rope was tied safely. Glad she made it out alive!
