The News Crew wins a Sky movies comp!

Ainsley Atkinson, 13, was a Sky Movies Family competition winner.

At the end of June my mum spotted a competition being run by Sky Movies Family and suggested that since I love movies I should enter.

I had to pick three movies from a list as my favourites. We were given the chance to choose the movies that would be shown on Sky Movies Family every Thursday during the school summer holidays. My choices for England were

G-Force, The Pink Panther 2 and The Wizard of Oz and I was lucky enough to be the chosen winner!

My prize was two nights’ stay in London with the chance to record introductions to the movies I had chosen with Craig Stevens, presenter of Sky Movies’ The Family Show.

The introductions will be screened ahead of when the movies play on the channel and my choices will be screened on Thursday 26 August from 4pm. For the introductions we had to say why we had chosen the movies we did. I find all three movies very funny.

From Darwin in G-Force to the hapless Inspector Clouseau in The Pink Panther 2 and the munchkins in The Wizard of Oz. All three films also show bravery and courage as the main characters defeat the bad guys and find happiness at the end of the films.

I thought filming the introductions was going to be scary and was really nervous but after meeting the other winners, Sean, Lee and Ashley, we met Craig and the crew and everyone made us really relaxed. When the actual filming took place Craig made me laugh and I forgot the cameras were there. I am now looking forward to seeing myself on television.

Ainsley is one of four winners of the Kids In Control competition on Sky Movies Family/HD. Catch all the winners every Thursday from 4pm throughout August presenting their favourite movie choices on Sky Movies Family/HD.
