Disney Channel star Selena Gomez has been a busy girl. Not only is she the star of the Wizards of Waverly Place, she’s releasing a single called Naturally, an album called Kiss and Tell and has launched a fashion line for George at Asda. First News sent junior reporter Katie Holman, 11, to check it out and have a chat with Selena. Here’s what happened…

I have been a fan of The Wizards of Waverly Place for ages so when I knew I had the opportunity to go and see Selena Gomez I was really excited! I also love fashion so I could not wait to see her new fashion range.

I had to get up really early and for a change I was awake before the alarm went off as I was too excited to stay asleep any longer. I went with my mum on the train at 8 o’clock to get to London in plenty of time. As soon as we got off the tube we saw the big banner that said The Wizards of Waverly Place.

I had the opportunity to go and ask Selena a few questions of my own, I was really nervous but thrilled. Here is my interview!

Tell me about what’s going on today!

I am here today to help support the launch of the new Wizards of Waverly Place fashion range which is available exclusively from George at ASDA. The fashion range is based on my character from the show Alex Russo who likes to have fun with her clothes and experiment with styles.

What do you think of Alex’s style?

Alex is really fashion forward and I love her style, I think she would be really excited to have her own range. She has fun with her clothes and likes an eclectic mix… she is known for her style as well as her magic! Julie, the stylist on the show, is always giving me style tips and I use them in my everyday wardrobe.

What’s it like working with Disney?

Disney is like my family. They are very good to me and I am very lucky to have them support me! I always hope to have a relationship with them; they are like my second mum and dad!

If you had to choose between singing or acting, which would you choose?

In the long run acting, but I am enjoying both at the moment and am lucky enough to be able to sing and act.

You do so much! Is there anything else you would like to learn to do?

Well, I am so busy at the moment I am lucky to be able to do all these three things, alongside school as well. I would like to learn to cook but will maybe concentrate on what I have on at the moment.

You have a new album called Kiss and Tell. What is the album about?

I loved making an album. It was really different but it was really fun and I am so proud of it! My favourite song is I Won’t Apologise as I wrote that myself and am very proud of it, but my favourite song to perform is Naturally.

Do you have any upcoming projects that you can tell us about?

I am working on a new film called Monte Carlo with Nicole Kidman which is a comedy and I am really looking forward to. Apart from that I hope to try more films and maybe another album. My family always help me come up with new projects and figure out what is right for me!

Then the show started and I had front row seats on the catwalk and got a great view of all the clothes. I loved all of the outfits, but my favourite was the T-shirt and waistcoat which I hope to get for myself.

After the fashion show, Selena came on with her band and sang her new single, Naturally. She was brilliant and I loved the song as it had such a catchy tune.

As we left I got a Wizards of Waverly Place goodie bag so I have my own wand and, if I could do real magic, I would wish to have the day all over again…

I got home exhausted, but it was a fabulous day, and I will never forget it!
