The Dogs Trust warns 'a dog is for life - not just for Christmas'
WHILE a new puppy might be on many Christmas wish lists this year, animal charity, the Dogs Trust, is urging everyone to remember that a dog is for life and not just for Christmas.
In honour of their famous slogan, the Dogs Trust has put a ban on all rehoming until 2 January 2012.
The aim is to reduce the number of dogs given as Christmas presents. Every year, hundreds of puppies are left abandoned after the novelty wears off in the New Year. If someone seriously wants a dog, they will be happy to wait a week or so.
The Dogs Trust slogan, ‘A dog is for life, not just for Christmas’, has been around for more than 30 years

That's good! It's not fair that dogs are abandoned as soon as the novelty wears off!

I agree, and I think it's a good thing that they have put the ban on, it will make people think before they get a puppy or a dog.

I agree SO MUCH, that I disagree! The ban should last til the END of January, so people who have unwanted dogs HAVE to get used to them, and might grow to like them. That will definitely reduce the number of dogs!!!
