Steve Jobs dies from cancer

Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs has died from cancer age 56

Steve Jobs lost his battle with pancreatic cancer last night. He was the founder of Apple and he is credited with making the company one of the biggest names in technology.

Apple released must-have gadgets like the Mac and the iPhone.

Within minutes of his death tributes from famous people such as Barack Obama and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg started to pour onto the internet.

The Apple board of directors released a statement saying: "We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today."

Steve Jobs' family also expressed their thanks to "the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve's illness."

Steve Jobs also founded Pixar - the company which released the Toy Story trilogy, Up and Finding Nemo.

Apple have changed the front page of their website as a tribute to Steve Jobs.

    This is so sad! Steve Jobs was inventive, creative and really amazing when it came to computers. I doubt Apple will ever be the same without him. He changed the way we used computers.

    luckily he stepped down from being CEO in august, so the drama of choosing a new one wont happen. R.I.P Steve, you will never be forgotten.
