Singer Jai McDowall wins Britain's Got Talent

Scottish singer Jai McDowall won Britain's Got Talent over the weekend.

The singer won a £100,000 cash prize and a coveted place at this year's Royal Variety Performance, where he will get the chance to perform in front of the Royal Family.

Although all of the judges praised McDowall's performance in the final, both Amanda Holden and Michael McIntyre said that they wished 12-year-old singer Ronan Parke had won the show. Holden said: "Of course I'm thrilled for Jai, but i have to say that I really wanted Ronan to win".

Ronan Parke came in second place and young boy band New Bounce came in third place.
