Should we fix or sell Big Ben?

British lawmakers met on Monday to discuss renovating the Houses of Parliament and how to stop Big Ben from falling down

A committee of MPs met up to discuss how they could renovate the Houses of Parliament, how to fix the tilting Big Ben clock tower, and even whether or not to sell the building!

Last year surveyors discovered that London’s famous Big Ben clock tower has begun to tilt to one side, like Italy’s Leaning Tower of Pisa.

They found that the top of the tower is leaning almost half a metre to one side, as it is sinking into the banks of the river Thames. This is thought to be because of underground works, such as the Jubilee Tube line, an underground car park and sewer systems.

The MPs decided that Big Ben isn't at risk yet, and that any repair work can wait until after the next general election in 2015.

    Fix it, people come from all over the country to climb/see big ben and it's nice over looking london. Is it's other name Saint Stephens Clock Tower ???? (Big ben is acutally the bell)

    Fix it!! why should we have to replace our clock tower when it would be cheaper just to fix it and it would keep people from protesting

    FIX IT NOW!!!!!!! Actually i haven't had a tour of the clock tower in a few days so i may actually want to see it tilting... (I'm rich by the way)
