X Factor and Dancing on Ice celebrity Sinitta was voted off the show after a costume mishap during her first dance. Sinitta and her ice partner were in the skate-off after receiving the lowest votes from viewers. A mistake during a lift, meant Sinitta cut her partner’s trousers with her ice skates. The judges chose to vote her off.

Comedian and actor Russell Brand has announced he is engaged to his pop star girlfriend Katy Perry. Russell popped the question while on holiday in India.

Twilight

Mega hit Twilight has picked up more awards at the People’s Choice Awards in LA. Taylor Lautner picked up the award for best newcomer, while the film won awards for favourite movie, top on-screen team and favourite franchise. Other big winners on the night were Johnny Depp who won best actor and Miley Cyrus who won favourite breakout actress for her role in The Hannah Montana Movie.
