Scientists want YOU to help count the black squirrels
A scientist from a university in Cambridgeshire is trying to work out how many black squirrels are living in the UK.
The first black squirrel was spotted in Bedfordshire in 1912 and since then they have been seen in Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
Black squirrels originate from North America and were introduced at the same time as the grey squirrel, whose numbers have flourished.
If you’ve seen a black squirrel in your area, you can report it online at www.blacksquirrelproject.org.
