Scientists think that pets could be psychic

A Cambridge scientist thinks that pets could be more psychic than anyone realises…

Dr Rupert Meldrake claims that he has accounts of more than 1,000 dogs and 600 cats showing psychic behaviour.

He said that about 50% of dogs and 30% of cats can tell when their owner is coming home.

"Many of those I spoke to made it clear that the animals' responses were not simply reactions to the sounds of familiar cars or footsteps in the street," he told the Daily Mail. "They happened too long in advance of the person's arrival, and often even when they came home by bus or train."

Dr Meldrake added that some animals seem to be able to predict tsunamis and earthquakes, and that we could use them as cheap disaster warnings: "An animal-based warning systems would cost relatively little.

"We should embrace it, regardless of whether or not we understand it. Ignoring it, or trying to explain it away, will leave us less protected against the unexpected ravages of nature."

They can sense natural disasters such as earthquakes as it would be a great help to them in the wild and they need good reflexes to hunt. Animals could probably know their owner was coming home from a long distance because even animals can tell certain times from the sun and when their owner gets home - if it is at a regular basis.
