School holds make-up lessons for 14-year-old girls
A school in Leeds is running make-up lessons for pupils as young as 14.
Mount St Mary’s Catholic High School show girls how to apply make-up for different events, such as a night out or an interview.
Teachers at the school claim the lessons boost the girls’ confidence and encourage them to make a good first impression.
However, many parents have complained that the classes are inappropriate.
The Family Education Minister said, “At a time when there is growing public concern about the sexualisation of children and young people, it is irresponsible for schools to provide make-up lessons.”
What do you think? Should schools give make-up lessons? Would you like to take part?

I think it´s kind of cool that they want to engage in the girls´s looks, and it will probably be handy some day!

I think this is ridiculous, make up cant be too hard to put on, and girls that don't know how to apply it can ask their mum, sister or a friend.

I think this is ONLY suitable if it is part of a GCSE course or for drama;teaching them how to apply stage makeup. Even PSHE would be OK, though I think teaching them how to apply makeup for a night out is going too far.

I think that it's a really silly idea to hold make-up lessons. If girls want to learn how to apply make up, them they should just ask their mums or something. It's teaching children that they need to put stuff on their face to look good, when in fact they should be learning that they are already beautiful.

I love that idea. personaly i am a big fan of make up. that should be the rule in all schools.
