Zain, samba time

Samba time

I want to tell you about an amazing experience I had last year when I got to perform at the Royal Albert Hall.

By Zain

Wow! I still can’t believe that we performed at the Royal Albert Hall.

Music for Youth organised the Primary Prom to celebrate the Government’s Year of Music. They invited our samba band, Ripple Escola de Samba, to perform. We wanted to show everyone how professional we were to make everyone proud of us.

We were excited before we went on stage but we were all quite nervous and had lots of adrenaline buzzing

through us. Our dazzling bright yellow samba T-shirts with our logo made the audience’s faces glow with anticipation. The encouragement from the audience gave us more enthusiasm and energy for our performance.

During the performance, the roar of the audience clapping us made us want to do our best performance ever. We were all BRILLIANT! We worked as a team and that kept us motivated through the day.

After the performance the nerves were over. The applause told us that we had won the audience of 8,000 people over. We hope we inspired children to play different types of music and have fun.
