Sainsbury’s rename tiger bread…giraffe bread

Sainsbury’s supermarket has officially changed the name of its tiger bread to giraffe bread.

Three-year-old Lily Robinson wrote to the company in May last year saying that the tiger loaves’ markings were more similar to those of a giraffe. She then suggested the bread be renamed.

Customer Manager Chris King was so impressed with the idea he sent her a letter back.

He wrote, ‘I think renaming tiger bread giraffe bread is a brilliant idea – it looks much more like the blotches on a giraffe than the stripes on a tiger, doesn’t it?’

Lily’s letter was later posted on Facebook and received over 150,000 likes!

So due to popular demand, Sainsbury’s have now officially started selling…giraffe bread!

I think that tiger bread has a snappier name than giraffe bread, but she is one smart three-year-old!
