Things could have gone very differently if Ron had been killed
Things could have gone very differently if Ron had been killed

Ron could have died!

Harry Potter author JK Rowling has admitted that, at one point in the book series, she thought about killing off Harry’s best friend, Ron Weasley.

JK made the revelation on one of the DVD extras for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which is released next month.

JK revealed that, midway through, she considered sending Ron to his doom but the thought didn’t last long.

She said: “I think in my absolute heart of hearts, although I did seriously consider killing Ron, I wouldn’t have done so.”

JK also admits that it is, finally, a relief to be able to talk about the storyline of the series, which was a strictly-guarded secret.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is released on DVD on 2 December. Look out for cast interviews in First News soon.
