Rare Red Kites are making a comeback

One of Scotland’s rarest birds of prey, the Red Kite, has reached record numbers. 

The Red Kite became extinct in Scotland more than 100 years ago, but was re-introduced in 1989. There are now 186 breeding pairs, 22 more than last year.
