Raising money for UNICEF

Raising money for UNICEF

Pupils hold a sale to help UNICEF provide education and clean water for children in Mozambique.

by Vicky O’Neill, 15, and Jeanna Lane, 14, Park School, Bolton

We collected donations of goods from parents and friends of the school. A lot of us donated baby clothes, clothes, shoes, bags, books, bric-a-brac and lots more.

Everyone was involved in doing different jobs. It was really hard to sort through everything and make up different prices. All the customers were really nice and we became more confident taking to the public. Some people even donated money and clothes.

The stall was really busy until after dinner and then we started selling every item for 10p or 20p. Packing up was not so bad and we ended up giving some of the items to a charity shop around the corner.

We also had a Name The Unicorn raffle to raise extra money and one of us won it and kindly gave it to another pupil. She was really pleased.

We raised a total of £265 and hope to raise even more next year!
