Pupils of Church High School create a jungle themed mural
Author and illustrator, Liz Million, paid a visit to our school to help us create our very own jungle themed mural.
by The pupils, Church High School, Newcastle Upon Tyne
We were inspired to create the jungle mural after a series of workshops by Liz Million. Liz came to our school and gave us a step-by-step lesson on how to draw animals.
The space in the Junior School that we have used was in need of some colour and brightening up and now we have something that will leave a lasting impression for years to come.
From flamingos and frogs to hippos and humans, we have been able to add our own drawings to the impressive jungle mural. Liz, enjoyed herself so much that she kept on coming back to help.
Alexandra said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting Liz and participating in the workshops. Art is one of my favourite subjects and we’ve learnt how to draw some very colourful characters! Liz said she gets her inspiration from lots of everyday situations and so I’m hoping to apply this to my own work.”
